Neighborhood vibes are not a lease guarantee. Two buildings on the same block can have opposite violation histories.

Start with neighborhood context (noise, construction, complaint density), then open the building report before you wire a deposit.

Quieter corridors still hide elevator and heat failures in older elevators — especially Upper West Side and Harlem pre-wars, and Downtown Brooklyn towers under construction.
